In my limited experience (of trash), Anastasia is not much of a page-turner.
I have finally (finally!) finished it–dutifully flipped (if not carefully read) each page.
At one point (Ch.16, entitled “Flying Saucers? Nothing Extraordinary!“), I had written the book off flippantly with these words: “I have come to the end of all the punctuation marks I’ll allow Megre to use.”
The only question before me: whether to post my decision on the blog, or just to share it with my most astute novel-reading friend.
I finally chose to engage the latter, who wisely suggested to consider if it might be time “to punt and cut my losses.”
After letting the original “field of play” to lie fallow for awhile, I picked the Russian girl back up and carried her to the finish.
Nightstand Pages, if I can stand them, to con\’t.
